Foolishness

posted in Funny, Photography, blog Wednesday, April 07, 2010

This past weekend I had the pleasure of attending Kevin & Bean’s April Foolishness. It played host to an incredible cast of comedians, all together for charity.  Adam Carolla, Aziz Ansari, Bill Burr, Jay Mohr, Jeffrey Ross, Jimmy Kimmel, Joe Rogan, and Sarah Silverman all performed.  Everyone had me rolling but Bill Burr & Jay Mohr absolutely killed it.  Besides running back and forth trying to photograph everyone, I spent then entire night with a smile plastered to my face.  Getting to photograph them was not only a huge blessing but an extreme joy for me.  My stomach was hurting from laughing constantly. I wish there were more events like that.  Here are a couple of the photos.

Joe Rogan & Jay Mohr

Aziz Ansari & Jeffrey Ross

Adam Carolla & Sarah Silverman

Thanks KROQ and everyone for your time. Thanks Tommy for assisting me the entire night. Couldn’t have done it without you sir.  A night I soon wont forget.

Recently as part of the KROQ photo campaign I got to go over and shoot Dr. Drew live on his radio show Loveline.  Again I was extremely excited as I am very familiar with the show.  Dr. Drew is a licensed MD who has helped and influenced a great amount of people.  Besides Loveline, he is also well known for his show on VH1, “Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew.”  On Loveline he always hosts guests to the show and it so happened that Glenn Howerton and Rob McElhenney of “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia” were his guests that evening.  If you haven’t seen their show, PLEASE DO.  My good buddy Scott Simock came along and helped me on the shoot.  Thank you sir.  It was very hard for us not to crack up during the show.  It was freaking hilarious.

Dr. Drew wrote in his BLOG “ I’m quite serious when I say this was one of the most outrageous ever. Pictures were taken in “dick towels”. God only knows where that will show up.”  Well Dr. Drew.  They are showing up right here!  I motivated everyone to wear the Dick Towels for a photo. Glenn and Rob created these and actually sell them.  They are awesome.

Good Times.

Thanks Chuck and Ann for setting this up.
Thanks Scott for your help.
Thanks Dr. Drew, Anderson, Rob, and Glenn for letting me take photos.
Thanks for the polaroid and the free dick towels!

These are some short 30 second teasers I did for the Relient K’s new album/documentary.  I just found out this past week they were actually posted!

I had such an incredible time spending over a month with those guys.  These outtakes are all REAL.  None of them were staged, and I didn’t tell them to say anything they say or mess up.  This all happened during interviews.  There will be several minutes of more outtake footage on the documentary.  Still waiting for that baby to release.  No idea at this point when it will.  Enjoy!

Teaser 1

Teaser 2

One of the bestfunnesttalented groups I have ever had the honor to work with.  Miss you guys.

A few months back I went to Indonesia with, PHENOMENAL Photographer, sir Joey Lawrence and  Willem aka Rambo’s Son.  Well before Indonesia happened I flew to New York to shoot a couple of music videos for Joey as well as his new photo DVD.  He had showed me a couple songs he had mastered up with friends Will, Kent, and Brayden, as jokes of course. This song is understood by geeks and tech nerds, which by my standards is just awesome.  We filmed spontaneously around New York for a couple days and got laughs, puzzled faces, flipped birds, and alot of people shaking their heads.  It was great times.  Joey posted the music video 8 days ago and it is over 200k plays on youtube.  That is bananas.  Enjoy.

If you want better quality, you can watch it on vimeo.
2nd video will be coming soon!

Check out his new DVD HERE.
I don’t know many photographers who this wouldn’t benefit.  Go check out it.
Hope all is well.

(old) Snowboarding

Old snowboarding blog from myspace.

Vacation…a time I get away and be completely free.
So I hadn’t been boarding in such a long time but I picked it back up like it was riding a bike. I was actually much better this time even though I hadn’t boarded in 6 years. We had a great great time and I got to spend it with awesome people. I went with my dad, his family, my sister, and two best friends.
We went to Sunlight in Glenwood Springs Colorado…we try to go somewhere new everytime, but like I said, it has been 6 years since I have gone last.
We escaped the trip with only a few injuries and only one overnight hospital stay. Poor TIM! His picture story is below.

So to begin the story….me and my sister were very happy to go snowboarding! This was two pictures snapped together…me and my sister both planned on jumping at the same time but we were off just a bit…and I put them both together and created this picture I find hilarious.

and a normal one i guess.

Hotel Pictures
I said a funny joke.

My sister had it coming.

Our hotel was so sweet

At 10,000 feet

I don’t think we were ready.

I stick my tongue out when I ramp.  MJ would be proud.

Chad has got skills, but maybe next year he will get bigger air than me and not bloody your lip. Im still king of the mountain.
hahahaha had a good time bro, glad you came.

Sister showing folks up!!

And this is what happened to poor Timmy when he tried to get major air his first time snowboarding….without taking lessons.

He cut one of his kidney’s and he had to stay a night in the hospital…in the morning he was taking a shower before he left and I creeped into the bathroom while he was taking a shower and scared the hell out of him. hahahahahah

Me and my two best friends. ( I actually just got done hitting Chad in the nuts and he didn’t even flinch for the picture….he is mizzzan)

As you can tell I have a very hard time taking regular pictures…I have to be doing something.
Well overall an amazing trip and im buying a new board and stuff to start going regularly. It is so incredible up there, an amazing creation. God is such an artist.
For all you folks out there debating over boarding or skiing….you will never know how much fun you can have until you board. Don’t settle for what is easier to learn!

Yes those are real worms in her mouth.  Eep.

Well I am back in the office here at Superhero and it feels great!  Loving the vibe and energy.  Joseph is now in the studio and I am STOKED to have him in Murrieta.  Never thought when we met on DH tour we would soon be living in the same town and working together daily.  God is good.  Sorry it has been a while since I updated.  Last week was a crazy one with Relient K, and then I got pretty sick.  One day I completely lost my voice, but still conducted a few interviews.  Dates got changed so many times, and finally I headed home on a few hours notice from when my flight actually left.  I will be back in Cali for 2 weeks and then head back to Nashville for RK again. Miss you guys already.  More Relient K stuff coming soon!

That is Joseph.  He is a good Christian dude, he plays drums in a band, he can speak fluent French, and is from Belgium, so breakfast in bed with him equals Belgium Waffles.
Oh did I mention…..he is SINGLE.  Amazing dude.  Holler at me for his digits. hahahahahaha

These are a few stills from the five short films I worked on in Missouri (Christ In Youth). I can’t wait to see the finished product.  I hope they make an impact on the viewers this summer!

It was soooooo cold down there.  My good friend Corey(above) was on his knees for about hours and hours on that concrete floor.  Way to stick it out man.   You did a great job.

A little term we call “improvise”

Another good friend of mine Kendrea.  You did awesome!

Director MD talking with Derek and Terry (MacGroober)

I really enjoyed this shoot, although we had to rush rush rush.  I can’t wait to see how it turned out.

Bored on set, so I had the make-up department make me look like death.
I must say they didn’t have to try hard nor use much make-up.

As soon as the CIY vid’s are available I will post em up!

I would also like to make a quick shout out and say I am proud of some things my friends are doing. Moving forward with jobs, getting sweet gigs, graduating, keeping community, and most imporantly being leaders.  You are all awesome and inspiring. Keep it up.

Hope all is well!

I am very excited going into week two with Relient K.  They are legit dudes.  All of them have made me feel welcome and have been patient with me in getting my shots, and interviews.  I try to stay clear and not distract them in their recording process.  They think so much into what they do, and don’t need another guy just making their time in the studio that much more difficult.  Well, I pumped out the 1st webisode and was stoked the band and manager liked it.  Nothing makes me want to work harder, than when a client gets excited about my art, and what I do.  I am thankful for the chance and opportunity to show them what I can do.

I am staying across the street from Ethan Luck and Josh Hernendez.  Again, more good times.  It has been so awesome just meeting new people and seeing old friends.  Hanging with Chelsea and Hannah, and hoping to see my Chatty friends.  While staying with Brent Okuley, we had a tornado warning.  The sky was so beautiful as it transformed from light to dark.  We packed up some stuff and went into the crawl space under the house.  Then just hung out, listened to sirens, the weather beat down, and the forecasters on the radio.  He brought 3 guns, lights, radio, and some other goods.  I brought my computer, harddrives, and camera.  OF COURSE.  Brent is a cool guy.  He is into military like I am.  It is cool meeting others who share the same views and interests.  He also tour manages and does sound for Underoath.  Again, rad freaking guy.  Its been a blessing being able to stay there.

Well here is the 1st webisode.

Well be looking back soon as I will be posting more webisodes.

To my friends and family.
I love you and miss you.

No telling what other measures they are taking to guard him.  It is a little like Rambo.  I would love to see someone try to hurt the president when he has a couple of these SUV’s guarding his limo.  Good luck.

I am about to move back to California, makes me wish I had one of those.  Pretty sure people wouldn’t cut me off anymore.
