Business Cards/Invisible Creature

posted in Art, blog Wednesday, April 28, 2010

Back in October when I was working on a project with my great friends Demon Hunter,  Ryan Clark and I discussed making some new business cards.  I wanted something simple and classy, yet complex enough for someone to remember it.  Also, something that let people creatively know I was into film and photography.  Well over at Invisible Creature in Seattle, creativity flows as much as it rains.  Ryan just went kind of nuts with my card and I couldn’t be more happy with the finished product.  The envelope holding my business card is black with my logo, also in black, embossed.  Even the writing on the actual business card is lightly embossed.

Down in the left corner is a little die cut box.  When the card is pulled out, it does a 360 around my head, just like a mini flip book.  The cards are also composed of 2 different pieces of paper glued together.  Not just one color on each side, but two individual pieces.  That way when the black side is embossed with my information, it doesn’t go through to the other side.  Boom, simple, tuxedo classy, and yet visually complex in design.  The mini stop animation implies my field of work.  Thank you very much Ryan.  I am excited to pass these around.  Everyone should do yourself a favor and go check out the work they do over there.  INVISIBLE CREATURE.

After getting back from Dubai, I finally got on the ball and cut together my first reel.
Hardest part was finding the right music but I think I found the right fit.  I tried to really make
it as diverse as possible, seeing how I do such a wide variety of work.  I truly hope it displays the raw passion
I feel daily as I pursue a career in capturing life in the most beautiful and personal way.  I feed off the emotion
in the subject I shoot.

Feel free to pass it around, embed it, link it, blog it, tweet it, abuse it….

You can find it below, on my FILM page, or my VIMEO.
Can’t wait for the next adventure.  Thanks for all your help/support guys and gals.

I met a woman named Janice “the menance” at Octoberflame last year, while shooting a documentary for Tiger Army.  I met her in the line and talked to her every night.  I found out she was a very talented artist.  I still think she should start tattooing!  She told me she wanted to draw me.  Umm, I wont argue with that!  She snapped a photo of me just standing there!  She made me look so much cooler than I actually do.  The crazy thing is, she draws in her spare time, as a hobby!  Go peep her work! Thank you Janice, I seriously appreciate the time and effort you spent on this.  Means alot.  I was having a rough day, then I got this.  Thanks for making my day!

Thanks again!

My buddy Jered Scott recently shot the album cover as well as all the photographs in the booklet.  They are rad to say the least.  Go check out the album and give it some support.  It will make me happy as well as him, as well as MXPX.  Ethan Luck also plays some guitar in one of the songs so that is a plus as well.

Btw, Relient K job is going well.  Getting some footage and really concentrating on getting quality stuff.  Audio is definitely something I am working on as well.  It has been bro hangout since day 1.  Record some, long lunch, play baseball, football, frisbee…..hahaha having a blast.  Hope everyone is doing well.  Will update with some studio updates soon, so keep checking back!

Go buy the CD!  Don’t talk, do it!

This is the cover for the new Demon Hunter DVD titled “Live In Nashville.”  The cover is a collage of photos I took, but edited by 2 time Grammy nominee Ryan Clark.  Click his name to go see his work and show some support.  His brother, Don Clark, is also a 2 time Grammy nominee.  I have been a fan of their work for quite sometime now.  Notice what the negative “black” space creates in the center.  I took the photos while on the road with them for 6 weeks this past summer.  The DVD will also host a photo booklet inside, filled with more photos I took from tour.   The DVD releases January 27th, 2009.  YES IN 2 DAYS.   You can order it HERE.  Go show it some support!
