Over Christmas break, I went out and did a quick small shoot of my great friend and very talented musician Brett Baggett.  He needed a few promo pics for his new project, so I was very happy to take them.  Brett is an intelligent young talent from Oklahoma who I have had the honor of knowing since 04.  Brett and his wife are two of my favorite people in the world.

We were out about 11am, which isn’t the best time to shoot, but it was very overcast so that was perfect.  It was about 20 degrees with a windchill of 10.  My fingers were the first thing to go.  Its the worst setting up gear and touching steel when your hands are frozen!  This was a simple set up. I only used an octabox and 10 degree honeycomb.  Used my new 16-35mm 2.8L.  I’m in love with the lens.

Interesting story about the shoot.    In the middle of our freezing cold shoot, we heard about 15 gun shots.  These shots were very loud hinting the shooting was not far from us.  Within minutes squad car after squad car made a perimeter around the block.  It had take place on the next street over!  Supposedly there was a gunman in his house just firing outside.  Thankfully no one was injured.  Always interesting times in Muskogee, Ok USA.

Hope everyone is doing well.
