I was snowboarding down Muskogee’s “steep” civitan park, when this breathtaking scene took place.  I debated on getting my camera, because I didn’t think I could actually capture it, but then shortly I found myself running to my van to get my camera.  I only wish you could’ve seen this with your own eyes, because the photo can’t do the real thing any justice.  The sun was shining down through the clouds and it was lighting up all the ice.  It looked like everything was diamond encrusted.  I will never forget that site.  God is so good.

BTW, Clicking the LARGE links will open the photo much larger(bigger = better).  I will start doing it to the majority of the photos so you can actually see them in better quality.  Thanks!

Enter to view video of the “PRESIDENTIAL GATLING GUN!”

No telling what other measures they are taking to guard him.  It is a little like Rambo.  I would love to see someone try to hurt the president when he has a couple of these SUV’s guarding his limo.  Good luck.

I am about to move back to California, makes me wish I had one of those.  Pretty sure people wouldn’t cut me off anymore.

Ok, let me just start by saying this, Natalie is amazing.  Not only is she very beautiful but the fact she went through with wearing a red dress in 15 degree weather.  It was sleeting and didn’t stop the entire shoot.  Well we get to honor heights, though it took 30 minutes to get there, and all the gates were closed.  So Barron and I hopped the little posts and walked around, found out locations and started setting stuff up in the car.  We then took the gear out, and did some testing while Natalie changed and stayed warm in the car.  When time came around, I had to carry Natalie to and from the set because she was wearing heals, and they don’t do well on ice.  Anyways, she wasn’t on set longer than 10 minutes for both locations combined.  It is the quickest I have ever shot, and for the first time a shoot where I didn’t review the photos as I took them.  I ended up snapping 50 shots, and got 3 out of it.  The best part is it was so windy and cold, Natalie’s eyes started to water.  I took a photo and caught a tear in mid fall.  It was spontaneous and I didn’t even know I got it, but when I reviewed it online, it sure brought a smile to my face.

She is even grabbing the bench covered in ice!  Love it.

But if you look a little closer.

Thank you very much Natalie. I know you didn’t want the shoot to end, but no need to cry over it. ; )
Thanks again Barron for helping me out, I appreciate it.

Attractive Girls Union Refuses To Enter Into Talks With Mike Greenman

Wow, it was a little slow starting out, but then ending just killed it.  I laughed so hard.
When he says, “or the Insecure Ugg Boats Over Jean Girls Union,”  holy crap I about lost it!!!!

I want to hear though ladies, is there anything else on the list that was unmentioned in the video?
These things are vital for me to know.

Btw, thanks for the link Randall!

I got word this afternoon I will be traveling to the island of Okinawa, Japan!  Tower Inspection has some work to do there, so I was asked to come shoot some more photos for their company.  The towers are only 700 ft, but I am sure it will have an amazing view of the country and ocean.  I am beyond excited, and rumor has it we are possibly stopping somewhere in Hawaii and Tokyo.  I am so thankful I ‘m getting the opportunity to travel and see the world. Traveling is something I want to do more than anything, and God is definitely giving me opportunity to do so.  The trip isn’t until Feb 16th, but it lasts for 9 days, well 7 if you take away 2 days for traveling.  Please keep this trip in your thoughts and prayers, in hopes it goes smoothly.   Thanks guys!

Also, if you want to see some of the past Tower Inspection photos, they are in the photo section, under “CAMPAIGNS.”

I will be posting some photos from the past trip to Puerto Rico in this blog tomorrow, so be sure and check back!

Brooke came in town for a few days and we shot at her parent’s house.  The house was full of awesome wallpaper, antiques, and furniture.  With all the patterns in that house, I could probabaly get a good 10 different looking shoots.  Thank you guys for letting me use your house and temporarily interrupting the football game!

Notice in the room with the lamp, the light shining on the back wall is actually influenced from the lamp, but not coming directly from the lamp itself.  I had positioned the light very high above the lamp shooting down, so it seemed as though that lamp was giving light.  Honeycombs, are so much fun I am telling you!  If you are a photographer or interested in film or anything.  Play around with these.  They give you so much freedom for creativity.

I had a good buddy BARRON assist me on the shoot.  Thanks man, you made things 10 times easier on my part!  Although I strongly insisted he try on the dress, BARRON adamantly refused.

This is the cover for the new Demon Hunter DVD titled “Live In Nashville.”  The cover is a collage of photos I took, but edited by 2 time Grammy nominee Ryan Clark.  Click his name to go see his work and show some support.  His brother, Don Clark, is also a 2 time Grammy nominee.  I have been a fan of their work for quite sometime now.  Notice what the negative “black” space creates in the center.  I took the photos while on the road with them for 6 weeks this past summer.  The DVD will also host a photo booklet inside, filled with more photos I took from tour.   The DVD releases January 27th, 2009.  YES IN 2 DAYS.   You can order it HERE.  Go show it some support!

The Clark brothers also blog.  Click HERE to view.

Honeycomb Test Shoot 1 w/ Miranda

|  Gear  |

- 3 Ab’s
- Diffusion Filters
- (2) 10 degree grids
- (1) 20 degree grid
————————————————————————————————————————-

Last weekend I got some new lighting gear, so I figured I would give it a go.  I got a new light as well as some 10 degree and 20 degree honeycombs.  Basically a honeycomb, or a grid, channels the light to a certain degree.  It allows you to in a sense “paint” with light.  Instead of flashing and lighting the entire space, you can shoot the light at something you want to highlight, allowing you to be a bit more creative.  The vignetting was done in camera with the lights, and not in post.  I actually used 3 lights on this single shoot.  There is a chart below.

I gave my friend Miranda a call and she was more than willing to be my test subject.  She mentioned her grandmothers house was basically empty, so we went there and  found some interesting wall paper in the bathroom.  This was an extremely tight shoot.  I had the counter to camera right, and toilet camera left.  The wide lens can be deceiving, as it made the bathroom look much larger.  I actually had a light on a tripod stand in the bath tub!   I noticed a pet bird in the house, so of course I had to get him in on the fun.

Well let me know what you guys think.

amazing view from restaurant

This is my 2nd trip here and I could say it was better than the first.  What a beautiful and unique place this is.  It is one of the dirtiest, but at the same time most beautiful places I have been to.  It somewhat makes me upset, the inadequacy by which this land is taken care of.  This land is paradise, naturally.  Then you start looking at how the land is used.  The houses, the properties, the streets, signs, the towns….everything is dirty and mistreated.  I have seen abandoned cars on the side of main roads with weeds growing from them.  I came across a starving cow directly across the street from a neighborhood, and a horse that was literally tied to a pole 2 feet from a busy road.  Trash is decoration to the roads, and their drivers are the most impatient, daring, insane drivers I have ever seen.  Way worse than LA.   Did the moral of cleanliness get washed out in the waves? What is funny though is, the beauty is still not remotely hindered by the lack of malcontent citizens who call this land their home.   I can’t honestly see why people let beauty degenerate to garbage.   Why dilute it’s brilliance?  Some things I will never know.  Oh well, I am still rejoicing in it’s natural beauty.

I made it a goal to order a meal in spanish, without any confusion from the employee.  1st attempt, definitely didn’t work, as I totally botched my opening statement.  I don’t even know what I said.  My 2nd attempt was a success, although I bet is seemed a bit rude.  ”Numero dos, grande Coke, gracias.”  NAILED IT!  I will be speaking fluently in no time.  ; )

Well my first climb(300ft tower) was suspended due to a missing safety slider.  I was a little bummed, but safety first.  Not worth the risk.   I snapped some photos, I will be uploading shortly so stay tuned.  Tomorrow I am climbing/riding (it has an elevator that goes near the top) a 1200ft tower, doing another photoshoot at the very top of the tower.  You get an amazing view of the Ocean, as well as being amidst large cumulous clouds in the most entrancing blue sky.

Looking forward to getting back to the states and start filming for CIY in Missouri.  Going to be awesome.  Please keep me in your thoughts and prayers.  I have a ton on my mind/plate right now.  I am grateful.  Thanks.
